Kelly Avery

Audiologist

Kelly grew up in Cary, NC. She earned her bachelor of science in communicative disorders with a minor in psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 2021. She continued her education at Towson University, where she earned her doctorate in audiology in 2025.

Kelly’s experience with hearing loss began at an early age and later inspired her to become an audiologist. Growing up, she had lots of friends who were hearing impaired. One of Kelly’s friends had bilateral cochlear implants and would teach her American Sign Language on the bus ride home from school. Kelly shares that she cherished those memories and friendships and soon realized that she wanted to spend her life helping people with hearing loss.

A typical workday for Kelly at South Shore Hearing Center includes hearing testing, hearing aid fittings, and hearing aid maintenance and care. She thoroughly loves helping people to hear and improve their quality of life.

When she’s not working, Kelly likes spending time with her friends and family, hiking, going to the beach, reading, and playing card/board games.
