Lauryn Corcoran
Lauryn Corcoran was raised on Cape Cod, MA. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Saint Anselm College in 2011, and completed her Master’s degree in Deaf Education from Smith College in 2012.
Lauryn has worked as a Teacher of the Deaf for thirteen years servicing students in Early Intervention and in mainstream classrooms as well as supervising other teachers. She has supported students of various ages in their mainstream classrooms, provided direct instruction to target students Individualized Education Programs and educated and trained students and staff on hearing loss, amplification systems, and accommodations.
Previously, Lauryn was also an adjunct professor for Saint Joseph’s University and taught a graduate course titled, “Developing Listening and Spoken Language Skills in Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.”
Lauryn has a special interest in developing students’ self-advocacy skills and the social emotional well-being of students who are deaf/hard of hearing. She is excited for this new opportunity and is thrilled to be a part of the South Shore Hearing team!
Lauryn is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as an Oral/Aural Teacher of the Deaf.
